Commission to Meet December 15th

BOISE - The Idaho Charter School Commission will consider petitions by three charter schools at its meeting Wednesday, December 15 at Boise State University’s Student Union Building in the Lookout Room. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. with a brief executive session and open session is expected to begin at approximately 9 a.m.

The charter school petitions on the agenda include: the Idaho Leadership Academy (ILA) in Idaho Falls and a virtual school run by ILA in Pingree. The Commission will also receive an update from Victory Charter School and Rolling Hills Charter School.

Idaho Leadership Academy - Idaho Falls/Pingree: The Charter School Commission has reviewed both ILA’s petitions at previous meetings. The Idaho Falls petition comes to the Commission after the Idaho Falls School District failed to act on the petition. The Pingree petition is going before the Commission as a virtual school.

Liberty Charter School: The school, currently operating in the Nampa School District, is asking to be placed under the jurisdiction of the Commission.

Victory Charter School: The Commission will review Victory’s charter because, under new charter school legislation, the Commission provides Victory’s oversight.

Rolling Hills Charter School: The Commission approved the charter at its September meeting and the school will update the commissioners on its progress.
