December 15, 2004 CHARTER SCHOOL COMMISSION RULES ON TWO PETITIONS BOISE – The Idaho Charter School Commission unanimously denied two petitions from the Idaho Leadership Academy and will wait 60 days to rule on Liberty Charter School's request to be under the Commission's jurisdiction. The Idaho Leadership Academy had two petitions before the Commission – a new school in Idaho Falls and as a virtual school that is currently operating in Pingree under the jurisdiction of the Snake River School District. While the Commission denied Idaho Leadership Academy's request to be under the state commission, the Academy will continue to operate under the auspices of the Snake River School District. The Commission also heard arguments regarding Liberty Public Charter School's petition to be placed under the jurisdiction of the Commission. The school is currently operating under the Nampa School District. Both the district and the school have expressed a desire for the Commission to become the oversight entity. The Commission will have 60 days to make a decision. Victory Charter School and Rolling Hills Charter School also updated the Commission on their progress. Victory opened this school year and Rolling Hills is set to open in the fall of 2005.######
